COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS AND ASSESSMENT OF THE INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS OF THE REGIONS OF KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract

The article examines the role of investment attractiveness in the development and competitiveness of the Kazakh economy. Investments are the main driver of economic growth, allowing for the modernization of production capacities, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the creation of jobs. According to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, diversification of the economy and an emphasis on innovative development are achieved by attracting investments. The study proposes a new system of indicators to identify the potential of the regions of Kazakhstan through a comparative analysis and assessment of their investment attractiveness. Effective strategies for increasing investment attractiveness, taking into account the economic, social, and geographical characteristics of the regions, are proposed. The article analyzes the investment attractiveness ratings of the regions of Kazakhstan for 2020-2023. While regions such as Atyrau, Almaty, and Astana have consistently high indicators, it is noted that additional measures are needed to improve the investment climate in some regions (for example, Kostanay, Mangystau).

The results of the study contribute to improving investment policy, ensuring balanced regional development, and increasing the competitiveness of the Kazakh economy. The importance of measures such as infrastructure development, improvement of the business environment and training of qualified personnel to increase investment attractiveness is emphasized. The article is of theoretical and practical importance, as it helps to develop strategies aimed at fully unlocking the investment potential of the regions of Kazakhstan and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
